Based in Florianópolis, Brazil, Plathanus has been in the market since 2014. In a moment of inspiration, the founding partners came up with the company's entire concept and business plan in just four hours! Today, Plathanus ranks among the top software developers in Latin America, having impacted more than 1,000 businesses across 15 countries. After serving mid-sized clients, the company is now looking to expand into large enterprises.
The arrival of a new partner revealed the need for strategic alignment to improve the brand's verbal and visual expression. The main challenges were: first, the company's strong association with ERP management, which created noise around its current focus — software development. Second, the need to build a brand that was desired, conceptually deep, and visually consistent and attractive.
Through brand DNA workshops and client interviews, we identified Plathanus's key differentiators: collaboration and high involvement. From there, we defined the four pillars behind the brand platform: Intelligence, Courage, Commitment, and Cooperation.
With a light, collaborative approach, the company believes that developing people is essential to changing the world. Its tagline, "(Des)envolvimento de verdade" — a play on the Portuguese words for "development" and "involvement" — reinforces this genuine commitment to growing ideas, people, and businesses.
The previous brand, complex and hard to remember, made it difficult to understand and recognize. On top of that, the visual universe needed to communicate the company's industry more clearly. As a solution, we created a symbol that combines programming-language characters with the concept of involvement. At the same time, it evokes the tree the company's name comes from, reinforcing the idea of "wrapping around to grow." The new typography, solid and commanding, marks this evolution, while the color palette conveys confidence and reinforces the company's identity. Illustrations and digital elements strike a balance between humanity and technology.
